Alfred Watson

Alfred opened his eyes.
His whole body hurt.
What happened?

He pushed himself up in a sitting position. He sat on an old hospital bed in
a pretty messy room. It smelled like dust and mouldiness.
The room was gloomy and dim.
The blanket which covered his feet had a lot of holes and smelled even worse than the
whole room.

Where was he?

He looked down his body. The upper half was naked, he only had shorts and socks on.
"What the--"

"Caroline?" somebody said out of the dark. It was a little girls voice. I sounded like a three year old.
"Hea, you're awake!" another girl said. According to the voice this girl was older. Much older.

"What's your name?" The older girl said. I stared into the dark. I couldn't see anything.

"Where am I?" "What happend?" "Who are you?!" So many questions where floating in my head.
But I went with:
"I want to see you first. Then I will answer."

The girl would have to come out of the dark. If I would see her face, I would also see her body and if she
was carrying a weapon. So I could calculate if she was dangerous to me or not.

A young woman, much older than I thought she would be, stepped out of the dark.
She was beautiful and more important, she wasn't carrying any weapons.
Behind her stood a little girl, maybe 4 years old.

"You're okay?" she said.

"Yes." I moaned. "I'm Alfred."

"Caroline. And this is Lucy"

The little girl waved and bounced behind the back of Caroline.
"I'm Luiii!"
